hi folks...this blog is really about music students, and the challenges that go along with studying a degree in classical music/jazz. hopefully we can share tips on how to cope with things we're all familiar with-nerves, repertoire, insecurities, uncertainty about work opportunities etc, as well as the good stuff-like um...the satisfaction that comes with being creative, self-expression and self-discovery, etc. also, id love to hear about your experiences in your various departments and lessons. right, i'll start:) im probably the World's Worst student. truly, i find myself pretty demotivated with music at times...am i the only one? sometimes the prospect of becoming a teacher to pay the bills seems a little frustrating. i believe that one should be an educator first, and a musician second, in order to teach music. since im not on the road to being a teacher by choice, a concert performer, and orchestral work is also not really my thing, it sometimes feels like work opportunities are a little scarce. i hope im wrong...if so, i'd love to find out the truth:)
